Parent and Citizen's Association (P&C)

Bonnet Bay School has a skilled and involved parent body. The parent organisation, the Parents and Citizen's Association meets monthly in the school library. Meetings are friendly and discussion is encouraged over nibbles and drinks.

The aims of the P & C are:

  • to promote the interests of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff into close co-operation; and
  • to assist in providing facilities and equipment for the school and in promoting the welfare and recreation of the students at the school.

Under the umbrella of the P & C parents operate:

  • a canteen three days per week
  • uniform shop
  • the management of Before and After School Care
  • committees to support dance and drama
  • volunteer working bees, complementing the school grounds staff

Our P & C also has a Welcoming officer to assist new families settle in to the school, parent representatives for each class and a busy Social Committee who organise a fantastic range of fun events throughout the year.

Our P & C is very successful in raising funds to support and enhance the school. A few examples include:

  • funding a major sound and lighting system in the school Hall
  • upgrading facilities in classrooms
  • landscaping projects such as a new front garden
  • provision of literacy resources
