Genuine Partnership With Parents

Open and Accountable

As a public school, Bonnet Bay School is open and accountable to parents and the wider community. The school undertakes regular evaluations, sets annual objectives and reviews outcomes in a transparent and consultative manner. Our annual report is distributed to all families and is discussed at a public meeting each year.

Parents value the openness and accessibility of Bonnet Bay School School which enables them to be fully informed concerning their children's education. In addition to scheduled Open Days and other events, parent are welcome to attend all assemblies, to visit classrooms and be involved in many areas of the students' learning.

Teacher-parent communication

Excellent communication between teachers, students and parents is a priority at Bonnet Bay School . Teachers are active in promoting this in many ways:

• "Meet the Teacher" information evening early in term one
• Parent-teacher interview in term two
• Student portfolio and learning outcomes report in term two
• Full formal report in term four
• Fortnightly newsletter

Parents are also encouraged to make appointments to meet with their child's teacher throughout the year, as the need arises.
