Learning at Bonnet Bay Public School

Computers and Technology

Bonnet Bay School values the importance of information technology skills for our students. The school has a computer lab. Each classroom also has two printers and up to four networked computers of which a minimum of two are connected to internet access.

Information technology is integrated into learning at our school. During our Enrichment/Interest Groups students engage in activities in the computer lab. Students are also able to access computers and educational software on a daily basis in their classroom.

Learning includes a wide range of skills and activities from basic drawing, word processing, project presentation, responsible internet skills, creating videos, editing film clips, preparing slide shows, publishing work, maths, reading and problem solving.

The library has computers for students' use, CD ROM encyclopedias and interactive reading books. Our Librarian uses technology to enhance students' learning of information and research skills, as well as maintaining borrowing records and catalogues.

The school has secured the acquisition of laptops for all teachers through DET funding so that the school has in excess of 40 computers.
