Learning at Bonnet Bay Public School

Sport and PDHPE

Participation is the key to sporting opportunities and success at Bonnet Bay School . Every child from Kindergarten to Year 6 is exposed to a wide range of sporting and physical experiences. From daily fitness to playing a Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) grand final on a Friday, every child is encouraged and supported to have a go and to do their best.

Bonnet Bay School provides opportunities for students to join one of the teams which compete in the PSSA Sutherland Zone (netball, soccer, cricket, t-ball/softball, swimming and athletics), and are able to progress to competition at Regional, State and National levels.

School Sport on Fridays gives students the chance to learn the skills of specific sports in a fun, less competitive way.

A comprehensive gymnastics coaching program is conducted for all students during term 3.

An intensive two week swimming program is conducted annually in an indoor heated swimming facility for all Year 2 students and Year 3-6 students who would benefit.

Fitness lessons are a regular part of our timetable where students participate in activities designed to develop skills, increase strength, endurance and teamwork.
