Gifted and Talented

Gifted and Talented education at Bonnet Bay School takes many and varied forms. Extension and enrichment programs are provided both within classroom and small group teaching. Class teachers collaborate with our specialist learning support and enrichment staff to provide:

• extension and enrichment groups in Mathematics and English
• public speaking tournaments
• attendance in the regional Gifted and Talented Students programs
• a Stage 2 and 3 student Learning Centre program

Throughout the school many programs are offered to provide enabling skills including:

• public speaking competition K-6
• Year 6 leadership course
• the buddy program for Year 6 students working with kindergarten students

Our teaching programs incorporate activities based on the use of multiple intelligences, differing learning styles and thinking skills, enabling the extension of students within the classroom.

We provide many different outlets and inclusions for our students with gifts and talents as well as providing "opportunities for all".
